Gas prices continue to rise, unusual after Labor Day

The Baltimore Sun -- Eyeing the Royal Farms sign advertising a gallon of premium gas for $3.99, Taryn Gross-Ojekwe's jaw fell open.

"When it is going to cease?" she said of the price, which has climbed steadily over the past few weeks. "Just within the last few days, it was $3.79."

As a freelance upholsterer, the Baltimore resident doesn't have a big enough income to brush off a quarter increase per gallon. The Nissan Sentra she parked at the pump on Russell Street on Monday afternoon now consumes about $60 at each fill-up.

Fortunately for Gross-Ojekwe and everyone else with a car, gasoline prices are expected to level off in the coming weeks, experts say.

Gas prices typically ease after Labor Day as demand ebbs when the summer travel season ends. This September, unrest in the Middle East and the

Tomok...after all of the negative comments you made including the childish names for the President, what is your solution?

I gotta know what this means, "The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens!" SO?

I am in favor of regulation of gas prices like before the Reagan administration. I would hope regulation would eliminate the speculators.

Gasoline prices are expected to level off in the coming weeks, experts say. Well, these so called experts have been wrong before an in my opinion they are wrong again.

Yeah, the traders and speculators took ADVANTAGE of us AGAIN, but NOT "forcing" the prices back down after the hurricane!

Gas prices continue to rise, unusual after Labor Day - there is nothing unusual about Gas Prices Continue To Rise!
Big Oil will continue to make their maximum profit and they Do Not Care about you. The trend for gas prices at the pump is up and will remain that way according to Chucky.
Big Oil continues to sell fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. 'Coming out of the closet' Chucks lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Chuck's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down – no matter how smoooooth talking Chuck spins those numbers and he can spin them very well! People will still drive and buy fuel no matter what but it sure helps to have a job too!
The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their personal benefit.
How much will gas prices go up and they will rise, the trend is always up with fuel prices. The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon, $3, $3.50/gallon or $4.00 is Not the new low!
All in the big plan to rid the population of its money and have Chucky as your savior.
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

If the economy was in good shape and everyone who wanted to work could find a decent job there would be much less complaining about gas prices, but the working class has been so beaten down for so long now we can't take it anymore.

Here we go again... Talking to "Experts" taking to them is like talking to the weather man. If they say "rain" long enough it will rain some day. It only took them 3 solid months of saying rain before it did.

I'm almost glad hurricane Wilma took my beloved Suburban; though it got over 20 MPG, filling her 42 gallon gas tank would set me back today about $155.00, ouch!

But with Obama-bin-lyin's and his energy Czar having grandiose visions of a New World Order with green vehicles and socialist security for all, this trend of rising prices is not destined to end. UNLESS, we as Americans wake up, get out and make the difference to get this country back to the vision our forefathers laid out for us.

You might want to read this and share it with everyone you know: American Creed
