You made a good point about the Keystone pipeline. My comment: We still need an alternative fuel in the U.S. We need to develop natural gas production, compress it into Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) and then convert all diesel 18 wheelers to run on LNG, cost about $2,500. Then install large high pressure tanks, like big propane tanks, at all Interstate truck stops. Build the Keystone XL pipeline and import shale-oil from our friends in Canada instead of Iran, Venezuela and other of our enemies in OPEC. Make North America an energy exporter: Canada, America and Mexico.

You wrote: "I wonder what would happen if there's a software error and you sped up and couldn't stop?" Undoubtedly, there will be. Seriously. Murphy's Law. Or an error and the thing just takes off by itself.

Excellent comments on the probublica.org article submitted by TFT. It's all, unfortunately, very true.

15 years may not be overnight in getting rid nuclear waste ... but it's pretty close. Especially when the alternative is a 1/2 million years. Blink of an eye, by comparison.

Please do us all a favor and do not submit any more articles like the AP one on the VOLT. It had more misinformation packed into less lines than any other article I have read on this site.
