May God Bless you & have A Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and your family!!!

changed greatly. I have three yars till retirement and wish to move to the WI North woods where my wife and I can entertain our kids and grand kids. We will then be happy and content enjoying our family, which hasn't been the case for a few years now. I have enjoyed your views and observations. Come out to NW ND and enjoy the capitalism in its glory. --73-- Ernie

Hi Fellow Buddy, I appreciate hearing the other side of the fence once in a while. Northwest ND is running rampant with unnesessary gred tendancies. I am sure that in MN this is not true. Many people have come to ND to seek their fortunes. Unemployment has dropped and the world is good. On the other hand, many have brought along their bad side taking from others without regards to environment and other people. I have seen store owners raise their rates higher than what is really fair. I have seen rents skyrocket beyond belief. This means that retirees living on social security thrown onto the streets without regard because of landlords raising rents 300 to 500%. This was in the local newspaper I can only read the run on the Bakken one way. It is not the traditional ND way. ND has been a traditional church going state. When I moved here, I could leave my doors unlocked. Neighbors would watch out for each other. Now, I am finding that neighbors have become strangers. This place has ch

By the way I am not IGNORANT. I am well educated.

I was accused of yelling greed and this is my response. I live in the Bakken area and this is my experience. I have lived in Minot ND for 4 years now. I have seen what greed does to a small community. I do not like it. I have seen Senior Citizens thrown out into the street as their rents have tripled because of greed. I have seen a Walmart double their prices. I see that motel rooms have doubled their prices for rooms. These are just the tip of the iceberg. I am happy that I own my home in Minot, ND or I would be out on the street!!! I am an engineer and have a good job. My pay has not risen as much as the cost of living in Minot, ND. I am happy with my job. For the most part I like to live here. Yes greed is here and so is crime. I have to lock my doors at night. My home and automobile has been broken into. I lost numerous tools. I also have to put up with prices much higher than in other parts of the country. There are times that I wish the big oil people and companies had not come.

You posted "Stop Shouting "Greed". You sound like a socialist.
Greed is the desire to have more for ourselves and our family. That is capitalism. It's what drives our economy. It is human nature, and what all of us want. (Well almost)
In a true capitalist system, the ones who do very well, do not earn their fortunes at the expense of others, or against their will. I applaud the successful ones that operate legitimately.
The biggest problem is "Envy". The desire to have what someone else has.
There are some who want to confiscate what others have earned for re-distribution to those who have not earned it. I'm all for a safety net for the truly needy, but it should not be too comfortable for the capable.
Capitalism isn't perfect, but it is far superior to all other economic systems ever tried in the history of the world, because human nature drives it."
That is one of the BEST posts I have seen!

Unfortunately, total disregard for reality and / or physics seems to be the norm here, rather than the exception.

Great points on hydrogen. Too bad most folks don't "get it".
