..such fairy tale happy endings are few and far between. Between deceptive leases, shady business practices, and lackluster well performance ..landowners have the same word of caution ..“It wasn’t worth it.”

Industry insiders have called shale gas a “ponzi scheme” on par with Enron, because companies inflated projections on the amount of shale gas ..to drum up investment..

The Federal Securities and Exchange Commission and the New York State Attorney General are now looking into whether companies committed fraud by misleading their investors.

But who’s looking out for the landowners?

You have no business selling any property rights away from your control unless you read, understand, and agree to every line of the contract. If you don't understand something, hire a property lawyer to assist. Have some people been screwed over by signing crazy contracts that they didn't read? I'm sure they have. Selling gas rights to your property doesn't automatically mean that a drilling company has a right to touch, much less utterly destroy, anything on or above the surface of the property.

We have family in Oklahoma who lived on a 250 acre row crop dirt farm. Natural Gas was located on their property back in 1960. The families are still enjoying the $$$$Millions$$$$ in Royalties they are being paid from the NG found on that old farm!!! There were several other farmers who made about the same amount or more from their farms!! Don't listen to the TreeHugger Terrorist! They are Job Killers!!!
